This is a magnificent Venetian sculptural glass elephant, made on the island of Murano, Italy, by Vincenzo Nason & Cie.
This pachyderm is impressive in size and weight. He stands 11” tall and weighs in at 8lbs 4oz.. With trunk pointed upward, the elephant symbolizes good luck, strength, wisdom and positive energy.
The original V. Nason & Cie label has been removed and there is no signature on this piece but all the hallmarks of the company’s quality and craftsmanship are evident throughout.
There are a few signs of prior ownership with some minor scuffing to the bottom and a small area on the back flank of the beast.
