This antique lot features three authentic paper banknotes issued by the German Reichsbank during the post WWI hyperinflation crisis. The collection includes a 1922 10,000 Mark “Vampire”note, an August 1923 5 Million Mark note, and a September 1923 100 Million Mark note. These notes provide a fascinating and  tangible look into Weimar Republic economic history, tracking the terrifyingly rapid collapse of the German currency. Following WWI Germany faced immense economic pressure and heavy reparations, leading the government to print money at a catastrophic rate. By late 1923 inflation peaked to the point where prices doubled every few days, and citizens required wheelbarrows of cash just to buy basic necessities. Ultimately these massive denominations became completely worthless before the currency was replaced entirely.

The pieces in this lot are in overall good antique condition, showing honest circulation wear, including soft edges, corner wear, small tears and noticeable folds. They are an excellent addition to any world paper money collection or history display.
